HouseWorks Meeting Growing Demand for In-Home Care
Hires former adidas executive to lead the charge

NEWTON, Mass. (January 4, 2019) – In its mission to meet the growing demand for in-home care, HouseWorks is pleased to welcome Chief People Officer Bill Holmes. Holmes brings to HouseWorks a 24-year career in high-level human resources positions at adidas and its subsidiary Reebok. In his most recent role as senior vice president of human resources North America, Holmes led more than 13,000 adidas employees through the successful launch of the company’s groundbreaking adidas Group Innovation Academy.

“Innovation has always been key to HouseWorks’ 20-year success,” commented HouseWorks' Founder and CEO Andrea Cohen. “Bill understands the HouseWorks mission and the importance of hiring the right people who can deliver on the HouseWorks promise: provide high-touch personalized, reliable and compassionate care for a growing senior population that wants to age in place, their own homes.”

Job one for Holmes is strengthening HouseWorks' recruiting capability so the company can hire more Caregivers to better serve clients and partners in Greater Boston and HouseWorks’ newest market, MetroWest. In just five months Holmes and his new team have hired more than 100 experienced Caregivers to ensure HouseWorks provides 24/7 care for partners, clients, and families.

“Our whole team is focusing on growing with the need and providing the type of care HouseWorks is known for,” said Holmes. “We are not just adding people; we are focused on making our people even stronger through new training, advanced technology and recognition programs. We are staying true to HouseWorks’ mission, doing well by doing good.”

One of the areas of concentration for HouseWorks is dementia care. While nearly all HouseWorks’ Caregivers have experience supporting clients and families affected by dementia, HouseWorks is implementing a new training program so staff can become Certified Dementia Practitioners. This certification ensures case managers stay current with trends, ethics, regulations, medications and new developments pertaining to dementia.

“HouseWorks understands that empowering our Caregivers with crucial information is the key to excellent care. The more training, we can provide, the more engaged and effective we can be with our clients,” added Holmes.
