The Professor's Problem
On the telephone, he simply said he had "a cleaning problem." More precisely, the professor's Cambridge condo was buried beneath 30 years of correspondence, creating so much dust that the elderly scholar had landed in the hospital with obstructed breathing. He'd already fired one cleaning crew, horrified by their thoughtless approach. HouseWorks would be different. First, all valuables were located and set aside. Then, HouseWorks removed the mountains of paper, uncovering surfaces that hadn't seen light for years. Coming across several large gifts intended for friends, HouseWorks delighted the professor by delivering them all, including a case of wine purchased years ago. Finally, after making some adaptive modifications in the bathroom, HouseWorks cleaned the condo top to bottom and the professor was back in business, more relaxed than he'd been in years.

All In One Day
The son called on Thursday afternoon, fully expecting a polite "no." His legally blind father was being discharged from the hospital on Monday and his hearing-impaired mother would be discharged from rehab on the same day. Could HouseWorks make their home ready in time?
Despite a Friday snowstorm that shut down the city, HouseWorks came through. Starting early Monday morning, a crew of three adapted both bathrooms, installed railings to help the father navigate, repaired the broken plumbing, installed a flip-down safety gate at the top of the stairs, cleaned up an oil spill in the basement, and scrubbed every room in the house. Late on Monday afternoon, the crew departed, a HouseWorks associate was on the job, and the couple came home together.
