Family Caregiver Coalition of New England

    About Us...

The Family Caregiver Coalition of New England (FCCNE) is a dedicated group of local professionals and consumers who are committed to improving the lives of all family caregivers.  It is our belief that building awareness and stimulating local, state and national advocacy will enable family caregivers to continue in their role as the nation’s principal providers of long-term care.

Our Mission...

To empower all family caregivers, and to create a society where caregiving is fully valued as a fundamental part of life.

Our Members...

Our membership unites consumer and provider organizations across the lifespan, with representation from family caregivers caring for children and younger adults with disabilities as well as those who care for the frail or disabled elderly.

Our Action Priorities...

The Coalition was established to acknowledge the essential role of family caregivers in America’s healthcare provision. Since its’ inception, the Coalition has organized two successful Town Hall Meetings – the second broadcast by PBS affiliates as part of the national “And Thou Shalt Honor” series on family caregiving.  The energy and follow-up interest generated by the Town Hall Meetings demonstrates the potential of a family caregiver coalition to raise awareness and create change.

Today, the Coalition consists of an active steering committee and a larger group of organizations and individuals who generously give their time and resources. Over the past several years, this committed group of supporters has developed into a well-defined coalition with an Action Agenda that draws on the combined strengths of its membership.

Building on the promising achievements of the past 2 years, the Coalition’s Action Agenda includes:

  • Raising awareness of family caregiving issues among policy-makers, employers, media executives, healthcare providers, and the general public, and
  • Improving caregiver access to information and decision-making support

Committed to improving the lives of all family caregivers-- in New England & beyond.
